New Walks in Coity Higher…

Coity Higher Community Council has been working in partnership with Ramblers Cymru on a Paths to Wellbeing Project for almost two years and during that time along with local volunteers and children we’ve planted 420 native tree species to create a border hedge around the community playing field in Coity, sown 2kg of wildflower seeds, built a bug hotel, put up bat and bird boxes in various areas of the wards and planted a community orchard in Pendre .

We’ve also worked in partnership with BCBC to install several new gates whilst removing stiles to increase and improve access, along with some footpath clearance work and our own waymark has been designed.

In addition, we’ve worked in partnership to design a new local walks leaflet, giving a map and details for 8 walks and we’ve installed an  information board on Heol West Plas, Coity showing the walks.   A copy of the leaflet is attached here

Hard copies of our new walks leaflet are available at the following locations:

  • Pendre Post Office
  • Shop on Garfield Avenue, Litchard
  • Red Dragon pub, Litchard
  • One Stop Shop, Brackla Industrial Estate (off Heol West Plas)
  • Six Bells, Coity
