Funding Success

Once again this year the Community Council submitted two funding applications to BCBC’s Town and Community Council Fund. One to refurbish the Litchard Park Play area off Tanyrallt Avenue, Pendre and one to resurface the footpath from Heol Spencer to Parc Prison’s entrance along Heol Hopcyn John.
We’re pleased that our application for £14,511 of match funding was successful to refurbish the play area giving us a total of £29,022 to spend on upgrading the equipment, including new rubber matting, new benches and bins and some maintenance work to the gates.
Unfortunately our application for the footpath work was unsuccessful and we are very disappointed particularly as we were offering 50% of the cost, but we will look for alternative sources of match funding for the project.
